Ebony's colourful skirt

Hi there.

My 7 yo daughter Ebony requested a colourful skirt with red and pink in it.

We went to Spotlight last weekend and Ebony picked out the fabrics herself. Can't you tell! Children have such interesting colour co-ordinating skills when it comes to dressing....LOL

It doesn't look to bad with her little red shoes which she wears with tiny pink socks and a red and pink jacket.

I could not find a pattern to make a skirt. All the ones we picked out of the catalogues at Spotlight were sold out. Don't you hate that!

So...I made up my own. It is far from perfect but it worked out ok.

I have since found a tutorial on the net to make a tiered skirt.

Here is the link http://www.kukyideas.com/journal/2006/07/tiered-skirt-tutorial.html

Thanks to Kuky Ideas.

I am off for a walk now with a friend who lives down the road.

Pics are:

2. skirt back.

Till next time, Happy stitching.

Leanne's House Bom.

Hi There,

Here are the pics of my Leanne's House BOM as promised. I am 2/3 of the way through hand quilting. It is starting to become a bit of a drag. But I will persist with it till it is complete. My fingers are itching to start something new. This is my downfall! I am the queen of UFO's. LOL.

Second pic is a close up of my hand quilting. Nice BIG stitches in Ecru DMC perle8. Much easier than quilting cotton.

cold. cold. cold.

Hi All,

It is soooooooo cold and blustery here at the moment. Perfect sewing weather.

I have caught Sarah's flu. Thanks Sarah.. LOL. Good excuse to have a few days off work to get stuck into needle and thread. I am back to working on my own stuff now that I have finished Sarah's birthday goodies.

The bag was from a Country Threads mag from a while ago. I have used predominately Poetry Collection fabrics. My fave ATM.

The doll "Patience" is from an "up in Annies room" pattern.
I have spent most of the day with a hanky in one hand and quilt and thread in the other. I am back to working on my Leanne's House BOM quilt. I am about 3/4 of the way through hand quilting. I will post a pic tomorrow when eldest daughter returns from camp to take a pic for me. She is the photographer of the family.
Have a cosy night.
